Cosmetic Dentistry
There's no reason to hide behind less-than-perfect
teeth. After all, a clean, healthy mouth and
a beautiful smile are your best assets!
Our practice specializes in a wide array of
cosmetic dentistry procedures, including bonding,
crowns, and veneers, and we aim to give you
the dazzling results you want and deserve. We
are devoted to giving you the exact look you
desire, whether that requires delicate enhancement
or more complex procedures.
Cosmetic fillings:
If you have a cavity in a
tooth, broken fillings, mercury fillings, or
amalgam fillings, this type of dental filling
is well worth discussing with your dentist.
Mercury fillings or amalgam fillings can easily
be removed and replaced with far more attractive
colored fillings. These fillings actually strengthen
your tooth beyond the level it had with the
amalgam fillings. Composite resins may also
be used to enhance the appearance of any tooth,
which is a tooth bonding procedure. The composite
resin will strengthen and enhance the natural
tooth structure as it does with use as a dental
filling.
Excessive or Uneven Gums:
Your gum tissue is like a
frame that provides form and shape to the top
of your tooth. A less than attractive smile
results when the integrity of the gum is compromised
or the actual gum between your teeth becomes
weak. Usually due to poor hygiene (gum disease),
you actually begin to lose gum tissue. Dr. Attia
provides many cosmetic solutions such as composite
resin bonding, crowns, and veneers to create
a great smile. These solutions are usually part
of an overall strategy which may involve cosmetic
gum surgery. Used to correct a 'gummy smile'
(a significant portion of your gum is exposed
when you smile), cosmetic gum surgery is the
procedure of lengthening your teeth from the
neck of the tooth upwards. Your teeth then appear
to be longer and much less gum is seen when
you smile.
Veneers:
An excellent alternative
to crowns, veneers can perfect your smile by
masking stains, hiding chips, correcting misalignment,
and creating uniformity. Veneers, which are
made of thin, customized material, are designed
to slide over the teeth, look incredibly natural,
are long lasting, and are relatively easy to
apply.
Whitening:
Many of us feel that our
smiles are most striking when our teeth look
especially white, but unfortunately, soft drinks,
coffee, tea, and tobacco can leave behind ugly
stains. To help you restore your gleaming, bright
white smile and to give you an added boost of
confidence, we offer many options, including
both in-office and take-home whitening procedures.
